Intel is the sponsor of this nationwide competition—America's oldest and most highly regarded pre-college science contest. Eligible students include high school seniors in the United States and territories, and American students attending school abroad. Each year, over 1500 students accept the challenge of completing an entry for the Intel Science Talent Search, with finalists competing for the top prize, a $100,000 scholarship.

The Science Talent Search is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions recognizing the best scientific research projects. It is a prestigious honor that can gain you admission to the best colleges and graduate schools. The top prize is $100,000, the second prize winner receives $75,000 and the third-prize winner receives $50,000, and three $25,000 and three $20,000 awards are also given; the 30 semifinalists receive $5,000 each.
